grazie Eumex!
I know the site of Gentile and all his work.
In particular, beginning from this studio, I'm interested (I'm doing a search on a officier Wehrpass of this unit) to the point where indicated losses incurred by the SS Feldersatz Battailon in summer 1944........
https://www.kontextwochenzeitung.de/fileadmin/user…_Gentile_bs.pdf
seite 14
Ws 439, SS-Felders.Btl. 16 "RF-SS", Verlustmeldungen,
Namentliche Verlustmeldung Nr. 2, verschiedene Verluste in Ripa zwischen 11.
und 25.7.1944. -
I was also interested in this battalion. In July 1944 it was headquartered in northern Tuscany between Savezza and Ripa (4-5 km from Sant'Anna di Stazzena) and has had several losses that month .... I found a reference de wast but I do not know how to look ...

Hi Oriano,
sorry i am not quite sure what you wrote. Do you mean there were 270 Germans working for the Allies or do you mean there were 270 units, staffed with Germans, working for the Allies.
Are there any lists of the units / personal?
I assume that my father was one of those who worked at the Cesenatico hospital until it got closed or transferred to another purpose.
Thank you and best regards,
Haraldthe sources are "Rimini Enklave 1945-1947" by Patrizia Dogliani.
In particular, data on the POW Rimini are in the binder ZA, that consist in 2 set of dossier (which I have not) entitled "Deutsches Generlaslager Bellaria" and "Deutsches Hautpquartire Bellaria".
The data on Cesenatico Hospital (which I have not) there are in binder (BA-MA) 7-3, Bl 131; ZA7-5 Bl 27 and Bl 40 (Always from this book).... -
Pass through the Rimini Enklave about 150,000 German prisoners. The first to be released in August and July, 1945, were the Austrians, Italians of South Tyrol, and the elderly over 50 years. Then the other, especially in the second half of 1946, and the last in the spring of 1947, when the Rimini Enkave was closed. The last released ( other the Ukrainians and estern soldiers enlisted in the Wehrmacht handed over to the Russians in spting 1947) were the technical, essential to the operation of Rimini Enklave, and those who worked outside the camp and throughout Italy, for the British Army (at the end of 1946 there were 270 German unit of work at the service of the allies at their airports or logistics unit)....

Hi Oriano,
thanks for pictures and informations. During summer 1945 to 47 my father was also POW in Bellaria, however I have no informations about the camp number.
Due to a copy from the International Red Cross he was working in the German workshop-department (Deutsche Werkstattabteilung) and left attached photo signed "Summer 1945 POW Cervia, Adria, Italy" (Sommer 1945 Kriegsgefangenschaft Cervia,Adria,Italien).
I wonder, if the workshop was in that building or what building the picture shows. Do you have any information about that in your literature or further information about that workshop department?
Merry Christmas and a great year 2014
Michaelthe photo is of the old "Colonia Varese", today completely abandoned near Cervia in Milano Marittima (a picture of today). In 1945, in addition to containing the Enklave prison, was home to a big deposit of materials and mechanic workshops for vehicle maintenance

Hi Oriano,
nice picture of the harbour.
My father wrote in his diary at the end of 1945 "Lager 2 II" (camp 2 II).
This camp is not shown on your attached maps. Do you know where this camp was located?
Best regards,
HaraldHallo, Guten Tag, Hallo zusammen....
I know nothing about the fields from 1 to 5 (this numbers may be temporary numbers at the beginning before the final organization of July 14, 1945, or assignements in offices or depot or other institutions , but it is only an opinion).
The Camp of Rimini Enkalve depart from 5c, and skipping some numbers, arrive at the 14th:
5c Ukrainian
5d officers (except paratroopers and SS)
6a transmissions and Health
11 young and elderly
11a Austrian (excluding volunteers)
12 trasmisisoni and non-German
13 Germans and Czechs
14a (ss, paratroopers, police)but the big picture is in the area between Cesenatico and Valverde
Grüße...

absolutely no problem! I'm out of Rimini but when I come home, when I step in Cesenatico (every Christmas there is a nativity scene at the port on older boats) I feel if I can try to find places of great pictures of the sea .... ciao Oriano

ciao Harold!
In addition to the infirmaries in every field existed two main hospitals in Rimini Enklave Rimini: Cesena Cesenatico, and a smaller one in Rimini. The staff working in all (doctors and medical staff) was German with English direction. In Cesena were cared for all the officers and was specialized in surgery, Otorhinolaryngology and dermatology. In Cesenatico instead worked a department of infectious diseases, neurology and internal medicine. The staff of Cesenatico, opened August 7, 1945, was approximately 280 Germans, and in the current hospital was the actual "Giovanni Marconi, requirement for this function until 1947 (it is still existing, fully modernized and is situated in the Parco Ponenete (between Cesenatico and Villamarina).I am attaching another map which is shown schematically.
merry Christmas!!

Diese Photos sehen ziemlich aehnlich aus denen von meinem Vater aus Cesenatico.very nice photos: 13a, 13, 12, were in Cesenatico, 11, 11a in Villamarina di Cesenatico.
Today it is very difficult to recognize its, because now they are all the hotels on the coast but it seems just Villamarina of Cesenatico ...

I apologize for the English language. I live in Rimini and I did a lot of research about the Rimini Enklave (the Lager of the Germans on the Adriatic Cost between Cervia-Cesenatico and Rimini_Miramare with the HQ in Bellaria in the building of Colonia Ferrovieri) . Among other things, there are two very interesting books (unfortunately the Italian!) on the history and life in the camp (enclose photos). The certificate may be of a school merit award, or for an exhibition of paintings or art, or a sporting event or, a concert. There were many activities in the Lager, including a real university (Dr. Erich Schwinge of the University of Vienna and dr. Wilhelm Kaster University of Hamburg) and were printed in the camp two newspapers (Die Brucke, and Lager Zeitung). Finally, one of the main activities of the prisoners was to collect the fallen comrades scattered in small cemeteries of the Gothic Line, and transport them in the German war cemetery of Cervia (that will be transferred at the end of 1950 to the Futa Pass)
