I have been assisting my friend in locating his father. He recently received his father's military cards. Can anyone help with translating the attached photo of his military index card? I erased my friend's personal info that was recorded on the index card. I can trace the family in East Prussia to my friend's grandfather who is Johann Hirsch as noted on the index card but I haven't had any luck with locating Herbert Hirsch or other later family members. I don't know if they were purged by the Soviets or maybe they stayed behind. They were apparently tenant farmers. My friend's father was apparently a slave laborer on a farm in Breddenberg, Lower Saxony during 1947. He was supposedly released in September of 1949 and then disappeared during a trip to Norden to visit a sister. I'm hoping there is something else in the record that can help us. My friend is resolved to the idea that his father is dead, but he would like to know where and when he died and where he is interred. I appreciate any help offered.
