I`m study a history of Kiev in WW2, especially during german invasion and collect a photos of that days, lot of buildings were destroyed and just in pictures we can see them. I found a lot of interesting at this site and also in Bundesarchive. Will be glad if you can send some photos from your collections and hope that i didn`t saw them earlier:). from my side - I can help you with definition of places at photos and their modern look, also translation of russian and ukrainian texts etc.

  • Great! Take a couple images. I collected near 200 photos wich was made by german troops. I surprised that you searching photo at russian sites but anyway I`m also get it there somtimes). First of all i`m interesting in pictures of buildings, rest of soldiers (not corpses like in Babiy Yar). Also I have a collection of photos of german military enginery wich was leaved in Kiev after the war, like in attached file.

    ich habe Sie über das Forum für meine Fragen empfohlen bekommen.

    Mein Opa, Ferdinand Ludwig Schiller, ist mit seiner Frau Emma, geb. Breiter, und den 6 oder 7 Kindern von Ossieka/Ukraine nach Gumbinnen/Ostpreußen ausgewandert oder geflüchtet. Mein Vater Paul Schiller, wurde am 28.03.1910 in Ossieka geboren. Sein jüngster Bruder Alfred ist wohl nicht mehr in Ossieka geboren, wo er geboren wurde, habe ich nicht herausbekommen. Ich denke, die Familie hat nach 1910 die Ukraine verlassen. Ich habe gehört, dass es Auswanderlisten geben soll. Haben Sie da Zugriff drauf??

    Können Sie mir da weiter helfen??
