Pz.Jg.Ausb.Abt. 4 / Pz.Jg.Kp.1276 / Pz.Jg.Abt. z.b.V. "G" help

  • Hello,

    I find myself spinning my wheels as I have been trying to make sense of the timeline and service of a soldier on the western front. The timeline I have so far is as follows;

    Sept 1st 1944 - Pz.Jg.Ausb.Abt. 4 (soldier joins)

    ? - Pz.Jg Ers.Abt. 1 -Allenstein (it's unknown when the soldier joined this combat unit)

    ? - Pz.Jg.Kp. 1276 ( 10 Stug IV delivered Nov 44 unknown when the solider joined this combat unit)

    April 1st 1945 - Pz.Jg.Abt.z.b.V. "G" (last unit soldier served in)

    During my research I discovered that Pz.Jg.Kp. 1276 was connected to the VGD 276 but was split into an "a" and "b". Unfortunately I'am unable to figure out which group this soldier was in. I was also able to discover that Pz.Jg.Komp.1276 was made up of parts of the Pz.Jg.Ausb.Abt. 4.

    It's here where I have started hitting walls and was wondering if someone could shed some light on the timeline. One thing I have started to look at was that Pz.Jg.Abt. z.b.V. "G" may have some relation to Lt. Pankow and the following link as well.

    276. Volksgrenadierdivision

  • Pz.Jg.Abt.zbV.G was composed of Kp. Bock, Pankow and Lang and served under Hrs.Gp.G. Off the top of my head, I think Bock or Pankow or Lang were related to Pz.Jg.Abt.93 and 525 (from memory).

    Pz. Jg.Abt. zbV G = bock, pankow, lang
