Hi all, i am a new member and i am looking for soldier fallen in Salerno in september 1943 (names, surnames, ID Disk matricular number, date of KIA/MIA and unit); in particularly i am an amateur historian and i want to find german soldiers without a grave (British and US soldiers are very few or there aren't, because the allies recovered their deads).
I was enchanted when i read the story of Wilhelm Heschnauer, a soldier died in 1943 and found in 2008 by the "associazione Salerno 1943", and i'm trying to find a picture of this soldiers (a Hermann Goring Division's panzergrenadier).
Same applies to Obergefreiter Walter Prochel (gefallen 18.09.1943 in Salerno), a machinegunner found by the same association in 2012.
They have found on June 18th 2016 in Pellezzano (north of Salerno, better known as Point 270) a panzergrenadier of the 50 infanterie bataillon (matricular number 5459).
I think that he was a soldier of 160 Panzergrenadier Regiment (if someone know about this soldier through the Wast write me : )
